About the author

Peter Hodgson is a Western Australian author with a traveller’s heart and a deep appreciation for the strange, gritty, and darkly funny.

Peter spent most of his twenties travelling and job-hopping across the globe, taking on roles in a wide range of industries—from seasonal work in remote Canadian resorts to 4:1, 2:1 and 2:2 FIFO swings deep in the WA outback. This patchwork of experiences shaped a sharp and adaptable outlook, equal parts resilience, resourcefulness, and larrikin wit.

Be it adrenaline-fuelled mayhem or simply putting along on his CT110 south of the river, Peter finds joy in the simple things and is usually taking something apart or trying to keep his lawn alive in his downtime.

His debut novel, Fly Out Day, draws heavily from his life experiences and his love of horror, action-adventure, and post-apocalyptic fiction. Blending zombie horror with rugged survival and a healthy dose of Aussie humour, he’s created a uniquely gripping story.
